This will be the fourth concert in the Secret City Sounds Summer Concert series presented by the Arts Council of Oak Ridge and sponsored by the City of Oak Ridge.  Concert is free to all.  Starting time is 7:30 PM.

Like Buffett?  Or, maybe some country sounds like Chesney, Garth or the Allman Brothers? The RiverSharks play the style of music that has pleased fans from their home base of Kingston, TN down to Key West, Florida . The selection of songs from "Classic" to "New" along with their superb musicianship and tight harmonies will have you up in your seat and dancing.

The five piece ensemble is known as one of the premier party bands throughout the Southeast. Mike Shannon, plays acoustic guitar and sings lead vocals, with Greg Campbell, bass and vocals, Darrell Cole, drums and vocals, Roger Deal, lead guitar and Ken Deal on keyboards and vocals.  All are excellent musicians with strong vocals. This is one band you really don't want to miss.  So catch them on Friday at the Pavilion, bring your family and friends to this “Party in the Park”.

Bring your chairs or blankets as seating is informal and outside.  Huddletown Bar B Que will have pork sandwiches, Razzleberry’s will have their delicious ice cream and drinks are available.

Next and last concert of the season is Soul Candy and the Traffic Jam on Friday, August 26, 2011.

Friday, August 26 – The Traffic Jam

The Traffic Jam

2011 beginning at 7:30 PM at the Pavilion in AK Bissel Park featuring The Traffic Jam.  A newly formed band with lots of familiar faces and a terrific sound and fun music for everyone.

The Traffic Jam is a fun filled band from the Oak Ridge & Knoxville, TN area. Formed in 2011, it is comprised of local musicians from various musical backgrounds. The three female leads: Lindsay Pope, Denia Kirk, and Theresa Jones sing together in the style reminiscent of Motown females (Aretha Franklin), 70’s/ 80’s pop groups (ABBA, Brenda Carlisle), and groups in the past decade (Girls Aloud). These ladies are active in the local community theatre scene, so they add a theatrical flair to the show.
The guys get their turn at vocals as well, performing songs by artists such as the Rolling Stones and Joe Cocker. Bass player Gary Coleman and Guitarist Pete Waraksa, former members of KnoxVegas, are joined by Tim Bean (Guitar), Rich Neubert (drums), and Jerry Sullivan (keys), our newest member!

But wait – there’s more! The Traffic Jam also features a horn section. Bill (Trumpet) and Tracy Walker (Flugelhorn), from the Atomic Horns, are joined by Mike Palmieri (Alto and Tenor Sax), former member of the Wayne Cochran and The CC Riders band.

With this many tools in the shed, the Traffic Jam can play just about any song they want!  And they do – and that includes: Rock-n-Roll, Rhythm-n-Blues, Country, Disco, and even Ska! All in all, the Traffic Jam is a great jammin’ party band.

Concert is presented by the Arts Council of Oak Ridge and sponsored by the City of Oak Ridge.  Seating is outdoors, so bring chair or blanket.  Food from Huddletown Bar B Que will be available along with ice cream from Razzleberry’s Ice Cream Lab.  Drinks also available.
